EXL: Draci and Hroši with wins again
There were only two games played on Sunday to wrap up Extraliga’s sixth round.
The first duel to be played was between Draci and Eagles. The fans saw the majority of the runs scored in the first two innings, where each team scored three runs. Afterwards, both starters locked in and didn’t allow any more runs. Both teams then sent relievers on the mound in the seventh inning. While Tomáš Hrbek didn’t allow any runners on bases, Draci scored against Tadeáš Zavadil in the seventh inning. First, Martin Kalábek batted in a run for Martin Červinka to add another to give Draci 5-3 lead. This is the result with which the game finished and Draci kept the first place in the table. Eagles is now tied for the 4th place with Arrows Ostrava.
Hroši won again
The second game between Hroši and Nuclears was dominated by the pitchers again. And once again it was Brno team which won. They could rely on Toru Murata, who only allowed one run in seven innings and struck out 10 batters. He also only needed 83 pitches to do so. John Hussey then finished the duel and only allowed 1 hit.
Host Ryan Johnson remained on the mound for five innings and he kept his opponents scoreless. The sixth inning saw returnee Jan Pospíšil, who came back from USA, to tie the game for Tomáš Říčny to steal the home base moments later. The final result 3-1 was completed by a triple from Marek Krejčiřík.
After the second loss Nuclears dropped to the third place behind Hroši and Draci.
