EXL: Will Třebíč create a new Extraliga record?
Třebíč Nuclears is currently holding the top spots of Extraliga tables. If we were to look for the reason, we should be looking primarily on the mound. Pitchers from Vysočina are excellent this year and they are heading for a new league record.
Nuclears are currently on the top of strikeouts, as their pitchers threw 147 SO. Before the Friday’s games it was Kotlářka who was behind them by more than 30 SO.

The history shows us that the current record for the strikeouts in the regular season is held by Technika Brno who did so in 2017. Pitchers from Kraví Hora struck out 324 players. If Nuclears keep their 11.3 K/9 they should finish with 395 at the end of the regular season.
Team from Vysočina can also attempt to create a new record for the number of strikeouts in the season, which is held by 2022 Tempo team. But to do so, they would need to likely get at least to the semifinals.

Another question is whether the club record will also change this season for Nuclears. It is currently held by American Devon Baker who did so in 2017 who finished with 107 K. If they manage to do so, it will be tough to guess who will be the one to reach it, as there is currently a number of pitchers who look like they could achieve the feat. Either way the fans of Nuclears have another reason to watch their team. Especially considering this season has a chance to break many records.
