Draci won the third game of Czech Series and are close to another title
After winning the first two games of Czech Series, Draci got a chance to get three games ahead on the home field. On the other hand Hroši needed to win in order to get a better fighting chance.
Hroši started with a Slovak national team pitcher Martin Gieci, however, he was substituted before two innings finished. In the first inning, hosts scored one run against him, however, Draci found their stride in the second inning. Everything started with a solo homerun from Martin Červinka, followed by 5 more runs. Three of them were earned by Ivan Guzman Zavala, who substituted Gieci.
Jan Vašourek, on the other side of the barricade, had much better five innings, where he only allowed two runs after a homerun from Martin Červenka.
However, Draci didn’t stop and slowly increased their lead to 10-2, when the 10th run came after a solo homerun from Milan Prokop.
After Vašourek’s substitution we got to see youngster Vojtěch Ventruba step on the mound. He kept the first two innings scoreless, however, Hroši decreased Draci’s lead in the 8th inning after a hit from Petr Čech. With two runners on bases, Draci’s defense stepped up and closed the inning with a double play. Even better defensive moment came in the 9th inning between Šimon Klacl and Jakub Hajtmar, who didn’t allow batter to get on bases at all and Draci could celebrate 3rd win in the series.
Reigning champions are now close to defending the title. On the other hand Hroši are now in a difficult situation, since we are yet to see a team come back from 0-3 in Czech Series. The 4th game will be played next Saturday at Hroši’s.
