EXL: Nuclears and Kotlářka remain in Extraliga. Technika will not advance

We already have two teams who are sure to appear in 2025 Extraliga before the end of Promotion League ends. On the other side of the table sits Technika Brno, which is certainly to play in First League next year.

Třebíč players are now certain to play in Extraliga after they won the series against Kotlářka 2-1. Before the last play week they have 10-2 record which is enough to keep them in top 4.

The second Kotlářka has 2 wins less and sixth SaBaT can reach the same number of wins. However, Kotlářka has the series results against Tempo and SaBaT to their advantage and in case of tied records, they are certain to end up in top 4.

The last two promotion places show an interesting situation. Hluboká currently has the best position to remain in Extraliga with 7 wins. At the same time they lost the series against Tempo, but won the series against SaBaT. If Sokol win at least a game against Kotlářka, they will secure the spot in top 4. Three losses, however, could send them to the 5th spot. But to do so SaBaT needs to beat Technika and Tempo, and Třebíč at least one time.

And it is Tempo in the fourth place that is in a rather difficult situation. Previous season’s runner-up will play with Nuclears and they certainly need to be successful. To ensure Extraliga spot for the next season they need to win all 3 games. In other cases they will have to rely on positive outcomes of Sokol and SaBaT games. However, Tempo might relax a bit knowing Třebíč has nothing to play for anymore and can play younger players.

The worst situation is here for SaBaT, who are currently in fifth spot. On the other hand they will play against Technika, who are yet to win in Promotion League. Three wins against Brno team would give SaBaT a solid chance for the promotion, but even that doesn’t need to be enough. If Tempo beat Třebíč three times and Sokol beats Kotlářka once SaBaT will lose their chances.

Technika, on the other hand, has its fate sealed after they lost 12 games so far. Furthermore, they only allowed less than 10 runs in one game and their current score is 22:156. Brno will see a series against a familiar foe over the weekend, which might help them to recover some of their reputation.

The last week of Promotion League promises interesting games and it might very well be true we only get to see who will play in Extraliga after the last game.
