Bratislava prepares baseball tournament for young girls
While Czech Republic already established the women’s baseball national team and allows women to take part in any senior competitions for couple of years, Slovakia’s situation is different. Bratislava Panthers project aims to change this, as they prepare the first U10 girls baseball tournament.
The tournament under the name „Baseball is for girls too“ will take place on 30th of November in the sport hall Vlčie hrdlo in Bratislava. There are currently 4 teams signed up – Vienna Panthers, Janossmorja Rascals, Trnava Panthers, and hosts Bratislava Panthers. The tournament is the first U10 solely girls tournament in Europe at the very least.
Slovak television JOJ accepted the part in the tournament, as their sports director Lenka Hriadeľová will throw the ceremonial first pitch.
