Bratislava will hold another edition of U11 international girls tournament
After a successful winter edition of „Baseball is for Girls too“, we get to see another tournament take place in Bratislava on 17th of May. The tournament will be in U11 category and the organizers informed they spoke to a number of teams to increase the number of participants.
While there were 5 teams from 3 different countries in autumn, organizers talked to 8 teams from 5 countries this time. Based on our information, while the teams are not confirmed yet, we might see teams from Austria (Diving Ducks Wiener Neustadt, Vienna Panthers, Blue Bats Schwechat), two Czech teams, formed for the tournament, Hungarian Janossomorja Rascals, and Slovak Panthers Trnava, and Bratislava Panthers. Organizers also contacted Polish Barons Wroclaw.
The tournament is organized by Baseball for Future, which is behind Bratislava Panthers teams. As stated for wbsc.org, the long-term goal of this event is to lay the foundation for women’s baseball in Europe, paving the way for the future establishment of high-level European women’s baseball leagues and tournaments.
