SVK: They faced South American pitchers. Apollo Bratislava won their first games in Croatian League

Apollo is still waiting for their foreign players. Despite this they won both games.
Apollo Bratislava players had a good weekend at Croatian Open League. They managed to win both games in the double header against Croatian Vinidja Varaždin. Apollo had good offense as they scored nine runs in both games and that was despite their opponent starting Venezuelan Antonio Cardenas, who has three years of experience in the MiLB playing in Arizona DiamondBacks organization.
Matej Škrelec shone on the mound when he closed both games and in the second game also added three hits and three runs.
“We are very happy with two wins. We once again faced a pitcher from Southern America in the first game, with whom we dealt with and we were able to score runs. Offense played well in both games. What didn’t work well this weekend was defense. So we know where we need to improve. When we can add defense to our offense, we can play good baseball for the entire season, and it will be fun not only for us, but also for the fans,” summed up the winning series to Croatia Bruengraf.
Reigning Slovak champion is currently tied for the second spot in the table with 2-2 record. In the upcoming week Bratislava hosts Varaždin in double header at home in Podunajské Biskupice.
