Nepříjemný moment byl o víkendu k vidění v zápase mezi LA Angels a Seattle Mariners. Hostující nadhazovač Matt Shoemaker totiž schytal pořádnou ránu do hlavy a musel opustit hřiště.
Matt zranění utrpěl ve druhé směně, kdy jej tvrdým odpalem trefil Kyle Seager. Pro nadhazovač Angels to byla konečná v zápase a okamžitě také putoval na vyšetření do nemocnice.

Po vyšetření pak klub zvěřejnil zprávu, ve které oznámil, že Matt utrpěl menší zlomeninu lebky a má v místě také malý hematom. Následně pak postoupil operaci, která měla zastavit jeho krvácení a nyní by měl být hospitalizován v nemocnici v Seattli. Dle posledních zpráv by jeho stav neměl být vážný.
