Fans voted Petr Čech the MVP of Czech Series 2020
After the final game of Czech Extraliga ended, the fans were able to vote for their Czech Series 2020 MVP via Baseball Czech Facebook page. In the end, it was Draci Brno’s catcher Petr Čech who won the honors.
Čech, who started his career in Arrows Ostrava, wears Draci’s colors for 5 season. This year he was voted Czech Series MVP with overwhelming 53% of the votes. Second place belongs to Arrows’ pitcher Ondřej Satoria with 32%, while third place, with 12% belongs to Draci’s short stop and reliever Martin Schneider.
In the final series, Petr Čech registered 8 hits and 2 homeruns, including the winning homerun in 9th inning of the second game in Ostrava. His second homerun was also scored in Arrows Park, when he gave Draci Brno the lead 3-0 in 4th game, leading his team to third win in the final series. Former player of Cincinnati Reds and German Regensburg can now put another Czech Series title and MVP to his list of accolades.
