Promotion League Statistics Overlook

With the Promotion League over, we know two teams from the First League earned their spots in Extraliga next year. Bearing any changes, we will be able to see Jablonec and Hluboká nad Vltavou as the two newly promoted teams. But before the new season starts, let’s take a look at the statistics of the Promotion League, as we are likely to see a number of the metioned players in the Extraliga baseball next year.

The batting average was a domain of Milan Prokop from Třebíč Nuclears (considering players with at least 20 AB), with BA .476. Ondřej Šebela (Olympia Blansko) and Robin Vávra (Třebíč Nuclears) took second and third place with BA .442. Yasser Tellez from Pelikans Bučovice scored the most HR, with 8 blasts behind the fence. It is worth noting that Bučovice have one of the smallest stadiums in the country, giving them an advantage in this category. Second place was taken by Michal Kubina from Blesk Jablonec with 6 HR.

Michal Kubina was also the most agressive runner with 12 SB. This was one more than Robin Vávra who finished second with 11 SB. Michal Kubina also earned the most BB (16). He will certainly be someone to keep an eye on in the upcoming season.

Despite being demoted, we find two players from Technika Brno in the first two spots in RBI statistics. Matěj Menšík takes the first spot with 21 RBI, followed by Mário Gottschall with 19 RBI.

Třebíč Nuclears finished second, however, we can find them top another statistic. Lukáš Pacal finished first with ERA 1.71. David Šťastný from Sokol Hluboká finished the best among the First League team pitchers, earning himself 5th spot with ERA 2.64.

On the other hand, it was Ondřej Králík who tops the BB table, with 32 BB in 23.2 IP. Despite finishing 5th in ERA, it is David Šťastný who takes the first spot in the most batters hit by pitch, with 14 HBP. Another pitcher with two digit HBP is Matyáš Kozel (10) from Klasik Frýdek-Místek.
