Jan Tomek wins best pitcher award in Bundesliga
Czech internation pitcher Jan Tomek played his fourth season in German Bundesliga this year, and it certainly was his best so far. Regensburg’s starting pitcher won the best pitcher award in Division South.
Tomek, who came out of Frýdek-Místek system, had 6 W and 0 L. In 40 IP, he only allowed 4 BB and ended with ERA 2.25. In Division South, it was only Mike Bolsenbroek from Heidenheim and Victor Cole II from Mannheim who came close to Tomek’s performance.
Jan Tomek became first Regensburg’s pitcher in past five years who won this award, after his former teammate Mike Bolsenbroek won it in 2015.
