EXL: Draci Brno signed American Marcus Jensen

Next foreigner to play in Czech Extraliga next season will be American Marcus Jensen who will play for Draci Brno. Jensen was supposed to play for Draci in 2020 season, however, Covid-19 recstrictions saw the season being played without foreigners.

Twenty-nine year old pitcher has a lot of experience from Minor League, where he played 6 season for Tampa Bay Rays organization. He was drafted in 13th round from 919th place in 2009. Jensen played 131 games in MiLB with 3.48 ERA, where he played in Single A league. Interestingly, in 2013, he was a teammate of Blake Snell, with whom he registered a combined no-hitter, which was also the first no-hitter in history of Bowling Green Hot Rods.

Rays didn’t extend his contract in 2014, which saw Jensen move to Rockland in independant CanAm League, where he recieved Player of the Month award (August). He had 71.1 IP in 31 games (5 times as a starter) and ended with ERA 4.03 and 50 strikeouts. In 2018, Jensen was on his way to play for Sioux City in the independant American Association, however, due to an injury, he was not able to play a single game.
