EXL: After end of quarantine Blansko has their first win
Extraliga Week 4 started early with the game between Blansko and Třebíč. In the end, it was the home team who celebrated.
Team from Vysočina started well. After three innings Nuclears led 3-0 with reliable Johnson on the mound. The home starter Villarroel Rengel also pitched well with 14 SO in 6 innings. The score remained unchanged until the seventh inning. This was when bullpens stepped in and the game changed completely. Třebíč first added a run, increasing their lead to 4-0. However in the bottom of seven Connor Walsh showed an abysmal performance, allowing Blansko to score five runs and take the lead.
But Třebíč didn’t give up. In next two innings, helped by errors in the defense, they added two runs and were 3 outs from the win. However, Walsh was not able to finish the game and after two batters, the score was leveled again, after Adam Prudil‘s RBI. Walsh was substituted by Tomáš Zachoval who was able to strikeout Ladislav Kabeš. After this, however, came a close throw to the home base after dropped strikeout. Adam Prudil slid to take the win and umpire announced save, much to away team’s dislike.

Beside the starting pitching, Ondřej Šebela also had a good game with 3 hits and reaching the base after an error. Nevertheless, Blansko was able to get their first win on the season. The series moves to Vysočina for the second game of the series on Friday.
