Adam Macko earned a spot with Modesto Nuts
Slovak baseball fans have a reason to subscribe to MiLB TV. The only Slovak, who is currently fighting for a MLB spot is officially on the roster of Seattle Mariners minors team Modest Nuts. 2021 season starts on 4th of May.
Modesto Nuts, with Macko, is Low Single-A club, which is the fourth highest rank in minors leagues. Left hander will try to convince the coaches to give him chance in higher ranks, where he could play for Everett AquaSox.
Pitcher, who started with the baseball in BK Apollo Bratislava, was drafted by Mariners in 2019 in the seventh round. He signed a professional contract with the organization after the draft and in the same year he had 23.1 IP with 3.09 ERA and 31 SO. In the previous year the minor league competitions weren’t played due to pandemic, but Macko was invited to camp in Arizona. Before the start of this season, he was dubbed 15th propspect in Mariners organization by MLB.com and it is expected that we could see him play in MLB in 2024.
