College Baseball: NC State lost in the finals of the tournament
End of the college baseball season brings great baseball, but also opportunity to watch Czech prospects against the best college talent in USA.
NC State played the tournament to win Atlantic Coast conference. Vojtěch Menšík and his teammates were able to get to the finals. however, they lost 0-1 to Duke. The game against North Carolina was the best for Czech player, but even his two hits were not enough to get the win. In the semi finals, his attempt to steal the base in the ninth inning forced the opponent to make an error, allowing Menšík to score a run. NC State will play NCAA Regional tournament next weekend.

Marek Chlup played all the games for North Greenville during the NCAA Division II SouthEast. NGU only played three games, however, after they lost 4-6 against Wingate. The teams exchanged the lead in the second game. First NGU was winning 6-2, only for their opponent to score five runs and take 7-6 lead. But NGU was able to score 6 more runs in the eight inning and take 12-8 win.
The third game, against Columbus, went in a similar manner. NGU was able to catch up to their opponent’s lead two times, but in the ninth inning Columbus went ahead with two runs. North Greenville was able to score a run in their half of the inning after West’s solo homerun, however that was all. Marek Chlup was unable to get a hit in any of the games, but he was on base at least once in each.

Charleston University also played the regional tournament, trying to win NCAA Atlantic. In it, they first lost 2-3 to Bloomsburg. In the loser bracket, UCW stepped up and won 12-8 against West Virginia State. In the next game they had their payback against Bloomsburg. In the semifinals, UCW had a bad inning against Millersville and after 1-3 loss, they went out of the tournament. Filip Smola played in the first two games as a substitute. He didn’t get at bat and only had one error in the defense.
