EXL: Petr Čech and Jan Novák are Players of the Week
While Players of the Week awards went to foreigners in week four, the Czech duo took them in week five.
It seems that Jan Novák is subscribed to the award in odd weeks. He took the Pitcher of the Week award for the third time, being awarded 63% of the votes. Novák showed off with an excellent start after he only allowed one hit in eight innings in Blansko. He also added 17 striekouts, creating new record for Czech pitchers since 2008.
On the other hand, Arrows catcher Petr Čech took Player of the Week award for the first time. He had a great week, going 8-for-12 against Blansko and Jablonec, with 1 HR, 10 RBI and a BB. Čech had 82% of the votes. After Matěj Menšík and Tyler Smith he is the third Arrows player to win the award this year.
