EXL: Schneider’s unexpected return helped Draci to win over Nuclears
Two out of four Friday games had to be postponed due to weather. The biggest news was certainly the return of Martin Schneider to Draci lineup.
In the interview for our web, Martin Schneider said he would play for Draci in playoffs, but the things quickly changed. Baseballer, who started his career in Skokani Olomouc unexpectedly returned to Draci lineup for the game against Třebíč. He showed that despite not playing a competitive game this year, he certainly didn’t lose anything from his baseball skills as he became one of the main players for Draci. He had three hits, but more importantly, he stepped on the mound in the eight inning, with Draci winning 4-1 but bases loaded and without an out. Schneider was able to keep Draci in front with two strikeouts.
Třebíč started the game better, taking the lead after a solo homerun from Connor Walsh. Lukáš Pacal held Draci offense for a long time, not allowing any runs. Everything changed in the sixth inning, after Pavel Budský scored a homerun. “Pája vs Ája” battle continues, even though Budský will need another homerun if he’s to take the first place in the “oldest player to hit a homerun” ranking. Nevertheless, he currently holds the record for the most HR in career with 165.
Radim Chroust remained on the mound longer than Pacal. He was substituted after seven innings, allowing three hits and a run. Thanks to his performance, Draci were able to grab the win.

Only few kilometers from Brno, in Blansko, the second Extraliga game was played. This game was much more batter friendly. We watched the game between two bottom league teams and this fact was marked by a high number of errors. Blansko hoped they could win and level the number of the wins on the season when compared to their opponent. However, Jablonec starter strong and got three runs in the first inning. Home team was able to respond and level the score in the second inning.
Blesk returned back in the lead in the fourth and fifith inning, after taking advantage of opponent’s errors, they scored eight runs. Blansko had enough opportunities to catch up with Jablonec, but they were only able to get two more runs. Jablonec got their third win on the season. Nineteen hits in the game was also the club record in Extraliga.
