EXL: Friday TOP 6 games brought a lot of emotions and home wins
There were three games played in TOP 6 on Friday and they brought three ejections and three home wins.
Lubomír Čuhel didn’t start for Tempo in an Extraliga game for at least 7 years. In the game against Arrows, he threw seven innings, allowing 14 hits and 9 runs. Despite Tempo offensive potency against Ondřej and Matěj Satoria, it wasn’t enough to get the win. Visitors came short despite two HR by Phil Steering. Arrows took the 3-1 lead in the first inning and they were able to increase it as the game went on, taking the first win in TOP 6.

Extraliga newcomer from Hluboká came to the Eagles Park. The game itself was rather exiting. Home team was winning 4-0 in the second inning and the emotions started to flare up, resulting in Petr Baroch ejection. Hluboká started to focus more on the game itself and they found the recipe against Tomáš Duffek, when they leveled the score after a series of hits and walks. South Bohemians continued in the seventh inning after they increased their lead to 6-4 on hits by Martin Macháček a Josef Novák. Šimon Vyklický substituted Tomáš Duffek and Eagles were able to halt their opponent.
The visitor’s lead didn’t last long. In the bottom of the seventh Eagles loaded the bases against James Boyce, only to clear them on Matěj Hejma‘s double. Eagles kept the narrow lead and won the game despite their opponent outperforming them by six hits.

Brno derby between Draci and Hroši brought even more emotions. Fans had to wait till the fourth inning to see the first run, when Hroši loaded the bases against David Mergans with no outs. But they were able to only get one run out of this. Draci responded an inning later when Jan Kucin substituted Matyáš Němčanský on Hroši mound. Home team scored three runs in the inning against him.
Interesting situation happened in the seventh inning. Visiting manager asked for the check on hands and glove of Venezuelan pitcher Omar Conorop. The pitcher was then ejected after the referee found forbidden substance on pitcher’s hand. Home manager didn’t like the verdict, however, and after arguing with the referee, Hynek Čapka was ejected as well. Conorop’s ejection wasn’t enough for Hroši win, as they were able to only get one run against Jan Vašourek. On the other hand, baseball legend Pavel Budský once again became the oldest player to score a homerun in Extraliga. It was also hit number 999 for him and so we might see another milestone being reached on Saturday.
