PBW: Spain beat Czech Republic 9-0 in the finals
Czech national team squared off against strong Spanish team in the finale of Prague Baseball Week this year. Czechs had a chance to make up for the loss in the group stage.
Spain entered the game in style, scoring three runs in the first inning against Radim Chroust. Spanish offense was on a roll and not even substitute Boris Bokaj was able to stop them, allowing five runs in two innings.
On the other hand, Czech batters were unable to find a way around Joger Balboa, against whom they only had two hits but seven strikeouts in six innings. Lowuin Sacramento, who came after Balboa had two clean innings with three strikeouts. Eduardo Miliani then closed the game.
Spain won in the second game against Czech senior team, and for the first time in the history they won Prague Baseball Week. Senior team finished second once again. They had second place in the tournament ten times in last thirteen years. Last time Czech senior week won the tournament was in 2015.
