NExl: Třebíč got closer to Extraliga. Blansko will play in First League

Previous weekend showed who will have a chance to play in Extraliga next year. This week we know that Olympia Blansko will be demoted to the First League.

Nuclears and Kotlářka faced each other in Vysočina and the first game already showed that both teams would like to remain in Extraliga next year. Home team started Ryan Johnson and visitors put their faith in Lukáš Ercoli. The game was, hugely thanks to their performances, very close and the lead was swinging from one side to the other to the very end. The drama culminated in the ninth inning. In it Kotlářka only scored one run with bases loaded and one out, thanks to which they leveled the score at 6-6. However, home team managed to do the same in the bottom half of the inning and Jeffrey Barto was walked with bases loaded, winning the game.

In the second game the winner was decided in the first inning. Třebíč started with a triple from Tomáš Chadim, followed by errors in defense they scored two run. Třebíč defense, led by pitcher Justin Revels kept the batters in check till the eight inning. In it, after an error from Miroslav Křivánek, Kotlářka loaded the bases with two outs and after the walk to Matěj Šůcha, they scored the first and their only run of the game. Třebíč then sent Lukáš Pacal on the mound, who played four important outs to get Třebíč their sixth win in Promotion League.

Blesk Jablonec – Olympia Blansko 10-0 (7 inn.)

Due to the bad weather, there was only one game played between Blansko and Jablonec. Blansko couldn’t really find their groove against AJ Fell in the game that was played, however. Fell only allowed 3 hits and no runs in seven innings. Blansko pitcher Luis Rengel kept his sheet clean till the fourth inning, until Radek Šulc opened the score with a solo homerun. In the end, Blansko scored three runs in the inning also thanks to Blansko errors.

Blansko sent Václav Tauš on the mound in the seventh inning and this was the sign home offense was looking for. After a series of hits and walks they increased their lead to 10 run and the game ended on mercy rule. This was the fifth loss in Promotion League for Blansko, which also means they are eliminated from Extraliga for the next season. On the other hand Jablonec still have a chance to remain in top two.

Next week, we will see teams from the First League join the hunt for the Extraliga spots. Třebíč and Kotlářka will have a longer break, playing their next game on 31st of July.
