EXL: Arrows won in Brno and are one win from the title
While home team won in the first two games of Czech Series 2021, the rule was broken on Sunday. Arrows shocked the home team at their field.
The game didn’t start bad for Draci, as they took the lead in the first inning after Martin Schneider‚s run from Pavel Budský‚s hit. Furthermore, Omar Conoropo kept Arrows hitless in first two innings.
However, Arrows pressed in the third inning, after Conoropo played two quick outs. Ostrava then came with six straight hits and took 5-1 lead. Their starter Boris Bokaj dominated on the mound, only allowing two runs in eight innings. The second came after HR from Pavel Budský.
Despite outhitting their opponent only slightly, Arrows managed to took their chances. Ostrava sent Michal Kovala to finish the game and it would seem the closer role suits the young pitcher as he finished the game without much trouble.
After the first week, Arrows are winning 2-1 in the series and they will have an opportunity to grab the title at the home field next Friday. On the other hand, Draci can’t waver again and will have to win away.
