EXL U21: Draci leveled the final series
The second game of the Extraliga U21 series moved from Jundrov to Komárov, where Draci play their home games. In it, the home team managed to get the win and level the series.
Draci returned the favor from the first game as visitors were the first to score and for a long time it seemed the win was theirs. However, Draci turned the score in their favor by the end of the game.
Hroši scored first two runs in the second inning, when Matěj Netopilík batted in David Fiala and Jakub Mánek. But these were the only runs Draci starter Tomáš Hrbek allowed in three innings he pitched. Relievers Jan Nebenführ and David Mergans didn’t allow any more runs to their opponent.
Draci were scoreless against Jakub Bílek for a long time. Their first runs came in the bottom of the fifth inning, when they loaded the bases without an out. Lukáš Řehůřek’s sacrificial hit then sent home a run. In the bottom of the sixth inning, with one out, Boris Večerka substituted Bílek on Hroši mound, which signaled a turnaround for Draci. First they level the score thanks to Michal Šindelka’s hit. Few moments later, after Martin Pernička’s hit, Draci went ahead 3-2. After a balk and dropped third strike Pernička scored Draci’s fourth run.
Hroši didn’t get a chance to do anything about the results, as the game was finished early due to decreased lighting conditions. The series is now leveled and it is certain we will see at least two more games.
