WC U23: Czechia lost witch Cuba 1-7
On Monday evening played czech national team their last game of Round robin on World Baseball Championship U23. Their oponent was cuban team.
Czech players strggled again on the bat in this game. They waited for first hit until bottom of sixth inning, when Marek Chlup tripled. Several minutes later he scored also first czech run after sacrificied fly out by Radim Novotný. In that moment Czechia changed score to 1-5.
On the mound started Viktor Večerka and he was able to hold cuban batters first two innings. But in top of third he allowed single and two walks. Moreover cubans scored first two runs after his wild pitches and it was signal for czech manager to send into the game his bullpen. Jiří Hikl and Lukáš Pacal allowed 5 more runs in last 5 innings.
Czechia didn’t score more runs in seventh inning and lost 1-7. Czech team ends in Round robin group with 1-4 and they will play in group for 7th-12th place. There will play with other european team from Group B Netherlands. Before last games of Round robin placement group will be completed by other two teams from trio South Korea, Nicaragua or Panama from Group B.
