MiLB: Adam Macko entered the season with 11 strikeouts
Slovak Adam Macko started the Saturday game for Mariners minor league organization Everett AquaSox. And he showed up in a positive light, all under and eyeful watch from Czech referee Zdeněk Židek.
Macko threw 5 innings and allowed 3 runs two of which came after homeruns. However, Macko striked out 11 batter and only allowed 2 walks.
In the end, AquaSox won 10-7 and now have two wins on the season. There was also a Czech connection as Zdeněk Židek refereed the game on the first base, and he welcomed young Slovak asking „Nazdar, tak jak se vede?“ (Hello, so how is it going?). Based on Macko’s statement, Židek is one of the best MiLB referees. We can expect these two will see each on the field more often.
