EXL: Draci lost the game against Hroši. Třebíč ran over Technika
Four games wrapped up the fifth Extraliga play week. Aleš Navrátil stared as he reached a new historical milestone, 1100 career hits.
Tempo Praha – Sokol Hluboká 2-4
After two wins against Hluboká the series moved to the home field of Prague team, who started with Ethan Skuija. Sokol relied on Petr Vojta. And it was the Czech pitcher, who had more reason to celebrate. Both pitchers tried to one up each other when it come to great pitching, and the first runs came in the bottom of the fifth inning. First, Ondřej Blažka sent in Lukavský. Afterwardsm Tempo loaded the bases and Vojta was substituted by Štěpán Havlíček, who walked the first batter he faced, which meant run scored for Tempo. Since then Havlíček controlled the game not allowing any more runs.
Hluboká had to wait until the seventh inning to score the first runs and it was a huge comeback. Sokol managed to score 4 runs with 2 outs, thanks to which Anthony Fell came in for Skuija. Until then Tempo pitcher threw brilliantly, striking out 13 batter. But even that wasn’t enough to get Tempo the win, as Havlíček kept them at bay and helped Sokol to the first win in the series.
Eagles Praha – Arrows Ostrava 3-4
The only series that was yet to decide the winner was between Eagles and Arrows. And it was a close game till the last inning that decided the winner. Tomáš Duffek and Ondřej Satoria only allowed 3 runs each. However, Duffek only remained on the mound for 6 innings, while Satoria threw 9. Before the beginning of the ninth inning the score was leveled at 3-3. Then Jakub Grepl gave Ostrava the lead and home team was unable to respond. Arrows hence got an important win.
EDIT: The revised scoring says Boris Bokaj threw the last two innings for Arrows. Satoria remained on the mound for 7 innings. Bokaj also gets the win.
Hroši Brno - Draci Brno 12-6
It took 15 games for Draci to lose. Fans saw 30 hits and 18 runs in the third game of the series between Brno ricals. Home team was helped by two homeruns and as a first team can boast to beat for now the best team of the league. Offensively, Hroši were helped mainly Marek Krejčiřík who had 3 hits and 5 RBI. Kellen Croce excelled on Hroši mound once again, adding a win to his statistics.
Technika Brno - Třebíč Nuclears 2-17 (8 inn.)
Another offensive performance was seen at Properity Park Kraví Hora. This time, however, it was lead mainly by the visitors from Třebíč, who took 3-0 lead in the first inning. They then added 4 more runs against Luis Rengel in the third inning, which forced Technika to substitution. On the other hand, Lukáš Pacal who started for the visitors, threw 7 innings, only allowing 2 hits and striking out 7 batters. Richard Sázavský also had a good game, where he only missed a double to the Cycle. Even without it he had 2 HR and 4 RBI. Třebíč won in the third game of the series and solidified the third spot in Extraliga standings. With nine wins, they are all but certain to reach TOP 6. On the other hand Technika's chances are slowly slipping away.
