EXL: Last year’s finalist started TOP 6 with a win
This year’s TOP 6 started with two games. In both of them the team playing in 2021Czech Series took the win.
Eagles Praha – Arrows Ostrava 1-10
Current champions from Ostrava got to TOP 6 from the sixth place as they started slowly this year. But they showed they want to win from the get go after they dominated Eagles Praha. Matyáš Kozel scored a three run homerun in the first inning, and had an altogether good game, where he only missed double to Cycle and had 4 RBI.
On the other hand, Eagles starter Tomáš Duffek only remained on the mound for 4 innings, where he allowed 8 runs. Ondřej Satoria threw a complete game for Arrows for the second time in the season. He only allowed one run and was an important factor in Arrows win.
Draci Brno – Hroši Brno 2-1
The second Friday game was much closer and we had to wait till the bottom of the ninth inning to see the winning run. Both teams entered it tied at 1-1, but Draci only needed two pitches to walk it off. First John Hussey hit Martin Červinka with a pitch, who was then sent home by a deep ball from Eugene Helder.
The entire game in YD Baseball Arena was dominated by pitchers. Everything started with Filip Čapka and Jon Kennedy for John Hussey and Juan Jaime to continue their momentum. The pitchers had 21 SO and only allowed 10 hits. The series will continue on Draci field on Saturday.
