Daniel Vavruša is headed to German Bundesliga
While Daniel Vavruša finished his baseball career at the top level, it would seem he’s now eying a return. He should play for German team Heidenheim Heideköpfe.
Heidenheim is currently the second in Group South, with only Guggenberger Legionäre, where another Czech Jan Tomek plays, being the ahead of them. Both teams are certain to get into the playoffs. Heidenheim hopes Vavruša will boos their ranks and help them to win the title.
“I had an agreement with Kotlářka to play a few games in the Promotion League. But Heidenheim contacted me and said they have injured catchers and that they would need me for August and few games in July, ” explained the unexpected comeback a long-term national team player. “I didn’t even think about it,” Vavruša responded when asked whether he was planning to return to the national team.
Daniel Vavruša was part of New York Yankees organization. However, his career overseas was halted by an injury. He played 8 seasons in Extraliga. He currently has BA .354 and 31 HO.
