EC U18: Slovaks lost to Ukraine in the qualification
The third game of U18 European Championship qualifications saw Slovak national team face against Ukraine. However, Slovak lost this important game in the end.
The game was a pitching duel for a long time, as the first runs came in the fifth inning. Ukraine managed to find a way around, up to that point well pitching, Samuel Daniš. Coaches thus decided to send in Matej Škerlec instead, but even he was unable to stop the offensive momentum. Slovaks had to wait for Samuel Holekši to halt Ukraine, but by that time, they were already 5 runs behind.
They only have 2 innings to mount a comeback. Unfortunately, they were unable to press their opponent and in the end were shut out.
After losing 0-5, Slovak hopes of getting into the finals of the qualifications are diminishing. They will have to beat Croatia on Saturday and hope other games will go their way.
