EXL: Draci Brno are a step closer to the finals
Only one of two planned games was played in Brno due to heavy rains. We will thus see two games at Tempo on Sunday.
The second game of the series between Draci saw Juan Jaime start. Jaime was yet to allow an earned run. However, this all changed in the first inning, after a long battle with Scott Mulhearn. After 9 foul balls Mulhearn got the ball in play and Eagles took 1-0 lead.
The score remained unchanged until the bottom of the second inning. Draci took the lead and an inning later Přemek Chroust scored a three run homerun. However, it was far from easy sailing for the home team as Eagles showed they would not go down easy despite losing 3-9 after six innings.
In the seventh inning, against Draci bullpen, Mulhearn and Jan Homolka scored in two runs. Tadeáš Zavadil added two more in the eighth inning and after an error from Přemek Chroust he scored one himself. Suddenly Eagles were only one run away from tying the game. Draci changed their pitcher and sent in Václav Tauš. He excelled in his task and thanks to 3 SO he played the last 4 outs.
Draci won in the second game of the series and will get a chance to move to the Czech Series 2022 on Sunday. On the other hand, Eagles now have to win the home game if they want to stretch the series.
