BK Apollo Bratislava defended Slovak champion title
Slovak baseball league has another season wrapped up. BK Apollo won their ninth title in row, after they beat Trnava 3-0 in the series.
Apollo started the series as a clear favorite, and the players showed just why in the first final game, as they beat their opponent 22-5 in five innings. This was largely thanks to Matúš Repaský who gave his team a huge lead with a grand slam homerun. The second game was much closer and the game ended after 9 innings. However, the winner was the same, Apollo taking the game 9-3.
Bratislava only needed on win to celebrate the title. On the other hand, Trnava had to win three times in a row. The third game was controlled by Trnava for a long time, as they were leading 3-0 before the bottom of the fifth. However, Apollo only needed a half of an inning to get the lead. They then kept increasing their lead till the final 16-6 after 8 innings.
Apollo Bratislava thus won the 9th title in a row and 11th in their history.
The best batter of playoff was also Apollo player. Matúš Repaský finished with .478 BA and 18 RBI.
