U15 WC: Czech pitchers threw a combined no-hitter
Czech U15 played their fifth game at World Cup on Friday as they faced Guam. There they earned the second win and they didn’t allow their opponent a single hit.
Combined no-hitter came thanks to Vít Staněk and Jan Novák. It was especially Staněk who had a lion share of the win, as he threw 6.1 innings. He also kept Guam scoreless for 6 innings. Staněk threw a strikeout to the leadoff in the seventh inning, but batter still reached the based due to wild pitch. And this was also the runner who ended up scoring the sole run for Guam. Jakub James Brown was the catcher for Czechs for the entire game.
Guam was able to keep up with Czechs for 2 innings. Ondřej Trendl then reached home in the third inning after Czechs successfully performed double steal. Score remained unchanged until the sixth inning. There Czechs added 5 runs and they built up the lead.
After winning against France, Czechs beat Guam and are now certain to finish top of the 10th-13th place placement group.
