Filip Čapka signed a contract with a Dutch team
Draci Brno, and national team player Filip Čapka will leave Czech Extraliga next season and move to Netherlands. Čapka will play for Oosterhout Twins in Dutch top league. Club informed about the signing on their social networks.
Twenty-four year old Čapka leaves Extraliga for the first time for the entirety of the season, after playing seven years here. He also played college baseball in USA and moved to Australia for winter baseball this year.
He was able to build up to be a number one pitcher in staring rotation for Draci. He also had the best year of his career in 2021, where he finished with 2.35 ERA and 1.151 WHIP. Last year he won title with Draci, winning 11 games and ending up the first league-wise in this statistic. He also added 106 SO, which was the second best performance after only Ethan Skuija. Čapka can throw four types of pitches – fastball, slider, changeup, and curveball.
