EXL: Camden Vasquez to play for Hluboká

As per usual, clubs aim to bolster their ranks before the beginning of Extraliga season, many looking abroad. One of the first new names is Camden Vasquez, who will move to southern Bohemia.

Twenty three year old Vasquez announced his signing with Sokol on his instagram profile. „I am so excited to announce that I have just signed a professional baseball contract to play baseball in Europe! I signed a contract with the Hluboka baseball club in the Czech Baseball Extraliga and will have the amazing opportunity to play baseball and travel throughout Europe. It has always been a dream of mine to play professional baseball and although this isn’t exactly how my 10 year old self drew it up in my head I am so thankful for the opportunity and so excited to be able to play the game I love, travel to new places and to get immersed in a new culture! Thank you to all my family, friends, coaches, and teammates who have continued to support me along this journey,“ said Vasquez in his post.

Hluboká acquired a player with three seasons in NCAA Division I where he played for San Diego. In the previous season he played 44 games with .283/..388/.336. Vasquez played mostly in the outfield, but he also has experience as a short stop, where he played in high school.
