EXL: Martin Červenka leaves Eagles Praha
It was one of the biggest news of the previous season. Martin Červenka changed his team and agreed terms with Eagles Praha. This year, however, we won’t see the national team catcher play in green and white.
The information was brought by the Prague team. “We thank Berry (Martina Červenka – author’s note)for the year he spent with Eagles. He immediately became a value member in all aspects of the team, be it on the field or outside. I won’t lie, it will be difficult to find a substitution for a plyer of his caliber, but we wish him all the best in his new club, and may the baseball still bring him joy and successful preparation to WBC and EC,” said the Eagles head coach Vladimír Chlup for the media.
Martin Červenka played his first full season in Extraliga after returning from MiLB in 2022. He played 43 games for Eagles, finishing with impressive batting average .424 and 15 HR. He finished the season with two individual awards and was part of 2022 Extraliga Roster of the Year. After the end of the season, he became a pivotal player of Czech national team and helped his team to qualify for World Baseball Classic. In the past, Červenka also played for Kotlářka and Tempo.
It is currently unknow where we get to see Červenka in the upcoming season, as our sources cannot agree, and thus we will have to wait and see. We will be sure to inform you once we know more.
