CB: Padyšák and Chlup starred again. Zelenka with more homeruns
After returning from WBC, the number of active players in college baseball increased and thanks to that we could see a lot of good performances.
Daniel Padyšák playing for Charleston Southern got a chance to play on Sunday against UNC Asheville. He entered the game in the fifth inning, playing as a long reliever and in the end threw 4 innings. He only allowed 1 hit and striked out 5 batters, helping his team to 10-4 win.
Marek Chlup played 3 games against King University and Czech player was right in a thick of it. In the first, where he was just getting started, he „only“ added two walks. But then it started. In the following game he added 2 hits, helping his team to demolish their opponent with 20-0 win. In the third game Marek Chlup opened the score with a solo homerun. He also added double and a walk. NGU won all three games and is currently 24-2 on the season.
Martin Zelenka playing for Pitt Community also hit far in the previous week, as he was able to hit a homerun in each of three games against Southeastern Community College-Whiteville. He had 7 hits from 13 AB and 7 RBI. Zelenka currently has 7 HR and 18 RBI, with BA .365.
Tomáš Říčný also played a good series of games. First he blasted a HR against CSU Pueblo JV, where he also got a walk. Unfortunately, Northeastern Junior College didn’t manage to win this wild game, which finished 19-20. NJC lost despite scoring 12 runs in the sixth inning. Czech player also played in the Sunday game against Trinidad State College, where he added 1 hit. However, NJC lost once again, this time 5-9.
Marcus Weinzimer didn’t playe for Santa Barbara this time. His team beat Ventura three times. David Bauer, currently recovering from leg injury, is yet to play a game for Embry-Riddle.
