EXL: Eagles won their 4th game. Nuclears take the series against Arrows
There were 4 games supposed to be played on Saturday, however, the weather had different ideas and we only got to see two of them. In the end, they were more positive for the home teams.
Třebíč Nuclears – Arrows Ostrava 10-0 (8 inn.)
The third game in the series was played at Vysočina with the series tied at 1-1. Both teams changed a different strategy on the mound. While home team started experienced Jeffrey Barto, visitors sent in young Matyáš Pjontek. And it was Ostrava pitcher who earned a loss, as Nuclears started to build the foundation for their 10-0 win, as they scored 4 runs.
Home bats were led by trio Strilchuk, Johnson and Jozek who had 8 of 10 hits for Nuclears. On the other hand Arrows batters only hit 3 time against Třebíč pitchers, which couldn’t be enough for the win. Furthermore, they made 4 errors in the defense and for this reason only 5 of 10 runs were earned.
Nuclears overtook Arrows in Extraliga table thanks to the win and they are currently 4th.
Eagles Praha – Tempo Praha 12-7
Eagles had a chance to solidify their momentum in Prague derby. Tempo, on the other hand, needed to halt the waves of runs their pitchers allowed so far. Out of the two, it was Eagles who showed their performance better. They started aggressively, taking 8-0 lead after 2 innings.
Albert Pražák kept Tempo lineup with only 3 hits and 3 runs for 5 innings. Duo Ondřej Hegr and Jan Uhlíř then added 4 more innings. Tempo only added 4 runs against them, which wasn’t enough to get them the win.
Each of Eagles players got on base at least once, helped by inaccurate throws from the opposing pitchers. Eagles finished the game with more walks (12) than hits (9).
Eagles earned their 4th win of the season and are currently first in Extraliga standings. Tempo occupies the last place, while they already allowed 50 runs to their opponents.
