EXL: Technika beat Draci in a weekend game
There was only one Extraliga game played on Wednseday to wrap up the weekend round. We saw Technika face their city rival Draci who they managed to beat and change the series result to 1-2.
The game was played under the lights in YD Baseball Arena despite Technika being the home team. It is interesting to note that both starting pitchers were technically Draci players, as Technika starter Dominik Polgár is currently on loan at Kraví Hora. Despite having his first Extraliga start of the career, he performed very well. Polgár remained on the mound until the third inning and he only allowed 1 run to Draci.
Technika responded to this run in the third inning, after Matěj Menšík provided the tying run. Daniel Mráz came in after Polgár, but Draci scored against him in the fourth inning, when Filip Moštěk hit a 2 run triple.
However, Mráz seemed to have changed his approach afterwards and he didn’t allow any more runs. His teammates were able to come from behind and took 4-3 lead. Even substituting David Mergans with Vojtěch Ventruba wasn’t enough. Technika added one more run after a hit from Robert Regner.
Draci sent Václav Tauš on the mound for the last three innings, and he kept his opponents scoreless. Unfortunately for Draci, they were unable to score any runs either, and Technika got their third win of the season. Draci continue in their unconvincing performance as they are currently closer to the bottom part of the table than its top.
Both teams will now play games against the teams who are close to them in standings. Fifth Draci will play sixth Arrows. Eighth Technika will face seventh Tempo.
