CB: Chlup and Zelenka finished the regular season with 13 homeruns
Spring season of college baseball is slowly nearing to the final of the regular season, which means that most of Czech players are getting ready for playoff.
Charleston Southern University played only one game against The Citadel. They lost 3-11 and currently hold record 19-21. Daniel Padyšák didn’t play this time.
Marek Chlup, on the hand, was in the starting lineup for North Greenville as he played all 5 games in the previous week. He improved his stats with 6 hits and 2 homeruns, which gives him 13 homeruns on the season. Furthermore, NGU also won all 5 games. They finished regular season in the first place and will be seeded as number 1 for Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship. Marek Chlup topped conference statistics in SLG (.804). He was also in TOP 5 in BA (.391), OBP (.494), OPS (1.298), HR (13), and SB (19). North Greenville will attempt to defend the title this year, but they will have to first conference championship that starts on 3rd of May first.
Pitt Community with Martin Zelenka also finished their regular season. Zelenka played 3 games in the previous week, improving his hits collection by 4. Two of these were homeruns, adding 7RBI in total. He finished regular season as the best batter of his team with BA .384, OBP .496 and 13 HR. Pitt also advanced to Region 10 DII Baseball Tournament.
Tomáš Říčný and Northeastern Junior College also finished regular season. He improved his homerun tally, finishing with 8. NJC finished with record 20-14, taking the third spot in their conference and will now move to playoffs.
On the other hand Marcus Weinzime and his Santa Barbara still have some games to play. Vacqueros played 4 games and Marcus played the game against LA Pierce. He came to the game in the 9th inning on catcher’s position, however, he didn’t get to bat, as his team won 11-1.
