CB: Marek Chlup will play for NCAA Division II title again
North Greenville University managed to win NCAA Division II title last year. And they get a chance to defend in this year as well, as they secured their spot in the previous week.
NGU needed to beat Belmont Abbey and they managed to do so, also with contribution from Marek Chlup who helped with the first NGU run and a few moments later he reached the home base himself. He had 2 H and 2 R as NGU won 16-8.
Chlup also had 2 hits in the second game. This time it was he who kickstarted his team to the win, when he scored in 2 runs. Their opponents managed to take a lead afterwards, however, NCAA Div. II recordman John Micheal Faille II gave NGU win with 2 homeruns. After winning 10-7 NUG could celebrate their advancment to national championship tournament. It starts on 3rd of June in Cary, South Carolina. NGU will start the tournament against Augustana University.
