NoExl: Extraliga teams didn’t hesitate. Kotlářka didn’t give Blansko any chance

Beside TOP 6, Promotion League also started over the weekend. The first two teams will play in Extraliga by the end of it. And it is the teams which we saw in Extraliga who started their journey towards remaining in the top league well.

Arrows Ostrava played 3 games against Blesk Jablonec and they left a little doubt their team still has enough quality. They beat Jablonec by a difference in each game, winning 15-0, 11-1, and 11-2. It was especially American Rory Graf-Brennen who had great games, as he added 10 hits, 5 of which came in the first game. Blesk batters had a tough time batting against Ostrava pitchers. They only had 3 hits in first two games, but the 3rd game saw them add 8 hits. With 3 wins, Arrows started the Promotion League as they planned to.

Technika Brno also took all three games against Skokani despite Olomouc being close to winning in the first game. Martin Schneider had a heroic game both with his bat and pitching, as he only allowed 3 runs and striked out 11 batters in 8 innings. He also opened the game with a two run homerun. But Brandon Smith showed something similar on Technika mound. He allowed 3 runs and striked out 11 batters in 7 innings. Matěj Brabec then added 6 more Ks in 2 remaining innings. The final score changed in the bottom of the 9th inning, when Skokani sent Petr Charvát on the mound while tied at 3-3. Technika managed to win with a walk-off hit from Sebastian Kelar. The second game of the series was also interesting as Technika had 6-2 lead for Skokani to come back and lead 8-6, and then again at 11-9. However, the end was all about Extraliga team and Technika won 18-11. The third game belonged to Technika as they were leading from the beginning and Parker Thode on the mound didn’t allow Skokani much. Brno then added 10 runs in a monsterous 7th inning and won 16-1.

Kotlářka Praha also took 3 wins over the weekend. Olympia was only able to keep up the pace with their opponent in the first game, where Štěpán Havlíček was on the mound. Wesley Roemer, however, came on top in the pitching duel, as he didn’t allow any runs and striked out 10 batters in 7 innings. Kotlářka won 5-1 in the end. The next two games finished early. Kotlářka, however, lost Adam Matuška in the second game, who had to leave with a knee injury. Series went well for Benjamin Mrogan, who had 8 hits and 7 RBI. Kotlářka showed it will be one of the main contenders to get to Extraliga for the upcoming year.
