Arrows Ostrava lost against Dutch HCAW
A day after an unexpected win against Bonn, Arrows Ostrava faced even tougher opponent – Dutch team HCAW Busum. In the end they lost the game where Arrows weren’t pegged to be favorites.
Marko Vykoukal allowed the first batter he faced on the mound and he then scored the first HCAW run. This score remained unchanged until the third inning. But then HCAW exploded in the offense and thanks to a three run homerun from Van Borkul they scored 6 runs.
Arrows then sent young pitchers in, starting in the fourth inning. And this was a clear signal to HCAW who continually increased their lead.
Ostrava’s batters also didn’t have a good game as they played without Jakub Malík and Michael Vykoukal. They only had 2 hits and no runs in seven innings they played.
They are now with one win and one loss after two games. Arrows will play French Rouen on Thursday. Were they to win they would be a step closer to the semifinals.
