Draci couldn’t handle the end against Paderborn and lost 2-4

Not even 21 hours after winning against Amsterdam, Draci Brno faced German Paderborn. If they were to win, they could increase their chance of playing in the semifinals.

German team had their star pitcher, American Qunn DiPasquale ready on the mound. Brno also sent in a foreign player, as Juan Jaime started for them, despite closing the game against Amsterdam. And both starters played well as they remained in the game for eight innings without having any earned runs.

But it was Extraliga team who scored first. Germans made two errors in the third inning, which Draci used to score two runs.

Paderborn managed to force Jaime out of the game in the ninth inning, after he walked two players and allowed a single. Jackson Solarte was tasked with closing the game. However, it didn’t go well for him, as, after a series of hits, Germans took 2-4 lead. With one out and two runners on base, Draci sent David Mergans on the mound. He gave his team two quick outs and Brno got a chance to try and snatch the lead.

Their opponent sent Benjamin Thaqi on the mound, who has ERA 1.64 in Bundesliga this year. He only allowed on batter on a base and in the end helped his team to the win.

With a lost of focus in the last inning, Draci complicated their chance of reaching the semifinals. They will face strong Parma team on Thursday and they will have to beat them. Otherwise they won’t have their future in their own hands.
