EXL: Draci Brno and Tempo Praha finished sweep

There were three games of the 4th TOP 6 round played on Sunday, a round, which turned out to be very successful for Draci and Tempo.

Draci Brno had a chance to finish the sweep against Eagles Praha. Prague team started the game quickly, scoring two runs against Juan Jaime in the first inning. However, the bottom half of the inning saw everything change. David Wilson who returned to Eagles, first had two quick outs, but then he walked three batters and he had was quickly substituted by Vasko Kolev. Koleve walked two more batters and Draci tied the game. With a successful hit Michal Šindelka then gave Draci 4-2 lead. Since then Draci only increased their lead until the game finished 13-2 after seven innings. Martin Pernička had an excellent game with 6 RBI, helping Draci to become the first team to win 10 games in TOP 6.

Tempo Praha is close behind Draci, and they emulated Brno team over the weekend when they, too, swept their opponent, Hroši Brno. Hroši started their ace pitcher Tomáš Ondra and for a long time, they had the game well in hands, as they were 2-1 ahead after six innings. The seventh inning saw Martin Červenka scored his eleventh homerun on the season and tie the game at 2-2. Hroši then send in their bullpen in the following inning, and Tempo took the full advantage of it, scoring 6 runs. Marek Krejčiřík only adjusted the score in the last inning, batting in a lone run to end the game at 8-3. Tempo currently has nine wins and holds the second place in TOP 6 standings. On the other hand, Hroši are 3-8 and the sixth place they occupy would not advance them to semifinals.

Třebíč showed they have better finish to the games than their opponent. Sokol starter Takamune Ichige held them with two runs for seven innings, however, Nuclears scored 4 runs agains Sokol’s bullpen and came back from 2-3 to win 6-3. Three runs of Nuclears came from the bat of only sixteen year old Vojtěch Šabacký from whom it was the best game in his Extralige career. Despite it turning not to be enough, Sokol’s Camden Vasquez had a great game as well, finishing with 3H, 2RBI, and 1BB. Hluboká will see the loss bitterly, as they had a chance to catch up with their opponent, but instead they are now 2 wins behind Nuclears and hold the fifth place.
