U12 EC: Czechs advance to semifinals after a win against Austria
After beating Lithuania on a mercy rule, Czech U12 team played against Austria on Thursday. And the goal was simple. Any win would help Czechs advance to the semifinals.
Austria played against Netherlands on Wednesday, in a game were Austrians held their ground and in the end lost 3-9. But Czechs started quickly, scoring 11 runs in the first inning and practically decided the game. Czech bats continued in the following innings and they had to help their opponent to a last out in the third inning when they were leading 24-0.
A good news for the coaches is that none of the pitchers threw a large number of pitches. Adam Kupský had the most of them, when he needed 17 pitches to get 3 outs. Czechs also only allowed 2 hits in 3 innings, but kept them scoreless.
