Martin Červenka took 4 awards in ČBA Gala
Prague saw Czech Baseball Association Gala take place in Prague. As a part of the event, the association handed out the season’s awards. The event was domiated by Martin Červenka who took 4 awards.
The first one was the Best Offensive Player of the Regular Season. Tempo player batted .474 with 15 HR and 60 RBI in the regular season and TOP 6, making him the top player in Czech Extraliga in the aforementioned statistics. Naturally, the second award came for the most HR hit. The third came for the Best Offensive Player of Playoff. And the last one was awarded for being the Baseball Player of the Year, voted by the sport journalists.
The awards were firmly in hold of this year’s finalists as Tempo’s Marek Minařík earned the Best Pitcher. Draci Brno won 3 awards. Jhenderson Hurtado was the Best Pitcher of Playoff, while Juan Jaime won playoff MVP. Jakub Winkler then won young player’s award.
National team’s coach Pavel Chadim took the coaching award after he qualified to World Baseball Classic, followed by won Prague Baseball Week, which came after an eight years absence, and the 5th place at European Championship.
