EXL: Jan Tomek returns to Arrows Ostrava
Pitcher Jan Tomek returns to Extraliga after years spent away. In the following season he should play for Arrows Ostrava, the team where he playe before he left the Czech Republic. Arrows confirmed the information on their social network pages.
Jan Tomek started in Extraliga as a 16 years old, in now defunct club MZLU Express Brno. He moved to Draci Brno after three years, where he won his only Extraliga title. He then changed the clubs for Ostrava where he played between 2013 and 2015. Player from Frýdek-Místek threw 359.1 innings in Extraliga with ERA 3.56 and 312 SO.
After leaving Extraliga, Tomek found his home in Germany, Netherlands, and Australia. In the previous year he was a part of the national team at World Baseball Classic in Japan. In 2021, a 32-year old pitcher came close to returning to the Czech Republic, when he made a deal with Hroši Brno. However, he was then convinced to return back to Regensburg and so we had to wait a year to see him back home.
