The third edition of Women’s Baseball French Open starts on Saturday

Now traditional Easter women’s baseball tournament will be played in Saint-Romain-de-Jalionas near Lyon this year. Three day long event is hosted by Bats Baseball and will culminate in the finale on the 1st of April.

French Open is organized for the third time after French Baseball and Softball Federation (FFBS) started the tournament after forming the national team in 2019. British Belles Baseball took part in the first edition of the tournament but since then only French teams played it. Despite not having an official women’s team we get to see three teams compete this year.

The same as in the previous years there will be several selection from different parts of France. We can look forward to GOP (from Paris area) who will try to defend their win from the previous year, along with Normandie selection, who won the first edition, and hosting Bats.

Along with the games, the tournament will also host Taiwanese national team player Fance Chen-yun, who should share her knowledge and experience in 10 days she will spend in France. Social networks of Bats Baseball also suggest this is not a singular event, but rather a start of a collaboration between French and Taiwanese national teams, and especially between Bats and Taiwanese WNT.

It is not yet clear whether the games will be streamed, but the results, as well as play-by-play should be available on the official page of the tournament.
