EXL: Kotlářka still winless after three games
There was one game played in Extraliga on Tuesday between Prague teams Eagles and Kotlářka. The Extraliga returnees wanted to get their first win of the season, however, not only was Kotlářka unable to get the win, they couldn’t score a run either.
Eagles started with Emmanuel Herrera on the mound, who was yet to pitch a scoreless game in his 10 Extraliga starts. However, he threw his best game against Kotlářka, when he only allowed 2 hits, 5 walks and no runs in four innings. Vasko Koleve then substituted him. Young Eagles pitcher threw excellent 3 innings where he struck out 7, which was his personal Extraliga best. Jen Fejt came to finish the two innings. He didn’t allow any hits and added 4 strikeouts. Kotlářka batters didn’t reach the home base once in the game.
Home team decided the game in the second innings, when Lukáš Derganz batted in two runs. Eagles then added third after a defensive error. Angel Vilchez then came in for starter Vít Hrdlička. He managed to stop home offense for three innings, when he struck out 8 out of 9 batters he faced. Lukáš Ercoli then came after him, but Jan Výbora beat him in the seventh inning with a two run homerun. Wesley Roemer then finished the game with five strikeouts.
Eagles beat their opponent 5-0 and they earned their second win of the season. Kotlářka is still waiting for their first win.
