EXL: Třebíč came back from 0-7. Eagles finished derby with Tempo
There were originally four games planned for Friday, however, the duel between Draci and Kotlářka was postponed due to weather. The remaining three games offered great moments, however.
Hroši Brno arrived to southern Bohemia, and hosting Sokol welcomed them with two runs in the first inning. However, Toru Murata then got into the rhythm and he kept three scoreless innings afterwards. Austin Hassami, on the other hand, allowed the first run scored against him in the third inning, when Hroši took advantage of a defensive error and took the lead with 3 runs. The third one was batted in by Matěj Mužík who returned to the roster.
Sokol tied the game in the fifth inning thanks to a hit from Michal Cajz. Hosts had a chance to take the lead, when they loaded the bases with one out, but Hroši managed a double play and took the opportunity from Hroši.
Sokol then sent Lukáš Chromý on the mound in the seventh inning, which Hroši used to score two runs. Hosts then decided to sent in Alec Lemmon. American pitcher was unable to keep his opponents scoreless this time and Brno team managed to increase their lead to 4 runs. John Hussey kept Sokol in check since the sixth inning. But hosts were able to score at the very end, which turned out not to be enough as they lost 4-7.
Comeback Nuclears
Ryan Johnson and Ondřej Satoria faced each other in Vysočina. Based on their performance this season so far, fans didn’t expect to see many runs. However, visitors entered the game with a gusto as they got a hit after hit against the Canadian pitcher. Johnson was also not helped by his defense and suddenly Arrows was leading 7-0 in the third inning.
The bottom half of the third inning went excellently for Nuclears and after a series of hits they forced Ostrava starter out and tied the game at 7-7. Arrows took the lead in the following inning when Jakub Mánek stole the home base.
Třebíč substituted Johnson in the fourth inning and sent in Cameron Liss. He managed to keep Ostrava bats in check and hosts could focus on the offense instead. They loaded the bases in the fifth inning, for Miroslav Křivánek’s double to give Nuclears the first lead of the game. And Křivánek certainly had a great game, when he finished with 5 hits, 3 runs, and 6 RBI. This helped his team to 14-8 win and a strong comeback for Nuclears. Třebíč strengthen the first position in the table.
Eagles beat Tempo
The game at Krč started slightly later due to rain. But this didn’t take anything from either of the teams as both teams scored in the first inning. Matouš Bubeník gave Eagles 2-1 lead with a solo homerun, however, Tempo tied the game in the following half inning, when Marek Minařík batted in their second run.
Keider Herrera started to have issues with control in the bottom of the half inning, which led to another run for Eagles and his substitution. Bubeník then batted in Uemura for the fourth run and home team’s lead was cut to two runs. However, they lost it quickly. In the sixth inning Tempo loaded the bases without an out for Elvys Castro’s hit to tie the game.
Eagles substituted starter Natuski Tamba after six inning, and sent in Koya Uemura. He added three innings to his already good offense, and kept Tempo from hitting anything.
Hosts then created a decisive lead in the eighth inning with five runs and won 9-4. The series now moves to Tempo on Saturday.
