U12 ECq: Slovakia entered the qualification with a win
Slovakia played the first game of the qualification for the European Championship on Wednesday. At the home field in Trnava they faced Romania and got the important win.
Slovak players made decisive steps towards the win from the very beginning, when they scored 8 runs in the first inning. They added the same amount of runs in the following inning and added another run in the third inning. There were three batters with a homerun. First Blake Kovac had inside the park homerun in the first inning, for Jakub Mlšak and Jerguš Benák to follow him.
Slovak pitching worked well as a quartet of pitchers only allowed 2 hits and no runs. Slovakia won 17-0 and have their first win of the tournament.
They will face Great Britain on Thursday, who also won their first game against Poland (3-1).
